Name: Murray Ramsay Brown
Age: 15
Blood Status: Pure-Blood
House: Hufflepuff
Wand: 13" Elm with dragon heartstring
School Position: Quidditch Team Keeper
Appearance: A tall lad of slightly thin build. He keeps his dark hair short, and has dark green eyes.
Family Reputation(s): The Browns are a pureblood family of some repute in Scotland.
History: Murray Brown lived in a world of his own for much of his early life. Disinterested in the collective activities of his large pack of sisters he would venture out alone and fly above the landscape of the Scottish highlands on the broom he was gifted for his 6th birthday. On occasion Murray and his younger siblings would play Quidditch, and as Murray was much better than his siblings he confined himself to playing in goal, which he quickly found to be to his liking.
Arriving at Hogwarts, Murray tried out for the Quidditch team unsuccessfully as a keeper. High injuries plagued the team throughout the season however, and eventually Murray was approached and offered a chance to play the final half of the season as a chaser. In this position he did well, and reprised the role in his second season before moving back into his favorite position of keeper in his 3rd year due to the graduation of the previous incumbent at the end of the past season. Murray has held the position of Keeper from that point on, and while he was always a decent player on Hufflepuff's roster he has developped into one of their stars in past seasons developing a reputation for his quick reflexes and acrobatic abilites. Murray's love of Quidditch is great enough that he dedicates his time to training whenever he can, and while this has contributed to his improvement in a keeping perspective, it has on occasion been to the detriment of his studies.
In class Murray has developed a reputation with some professors as a brilliant student, and with others as a complete dunce. He excels at what seem to be practical classes, such as charms and transfiguration, but does less well in what he perceives a 'duller' fare. Further, Murray has the astronomic skills of a troll due to a combination of a lack of affinity for the subject and a disinclination to dedicate time to what he deems a fruitless pursuit. While initially Murray was planning to take Alchemy as his second OWL he was convinced by friends to join them in Ancient Runes, a choice he regrets greatly due to his regrettable aptitude for falling asleep or daydreaming of playing Quidditch halfway through the rather boring class. While generally a well behaved student Murray is fiercely protective of his friends and teammates and has suffered several detentions for minor squabbles with what he feels are bullies from other houses. That said, the 5th year is generally a popular figure within his house, both for his Quidditch skill and his general good attitude toward his house-mates.
